J&K REPORTS 1801 FRESH COVID-19 CASES, 29 DEATHS

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir reported 1801 fresh covid-19 cases while 29 more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.

They said 554 of these cases were confirmed in Jammu division and 1247 in Kahsmir Valley, taking the total case tally to 295879.

Regarding the deaths, they said, 15 were reported from Jammu division and 14 from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 3992 so far since the outbreak of the pandemic.     

Providing district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 329 cases, Baramulla 148, Budgam 194, Pulwama 143, Kupwara 126, Anantnag 100, Bandipora 52, Ganderbal 67, Kulgam 76, Shopian 12, Jammu 153, Udhampur 27, Rajouri 92, Doda 67, Kathua 46, Samba 15, Kishtwar 25,  Poonch 55, Ramban 56 and Reasi 18.

Moreover, they said, 2694more COVID-19 patients have recovered, 886 from Jammu Division and 1808 from Kashmir valley. There are now 30657 active positive cases, 11133 in Jammu and 19524 in Kashmir.

Meanwhile, officials said one new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) has been reported today, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 13 in the J&K.

A number of fresh cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of CD and GMC Anantnag.
