Srinagar, Jan 11 (KNS): Kashmir division on Tuesday reported first case of Covid-19 variant Omicron after a pregnant lady from Uri in Baramulla district tested positive, official sources said here.
Official sources told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the lady had tested positive for Covid-19 around 20 days ago and her sample was sent for genome sequencing to SKIMS Soura.
He said that today the results came positive for Omicron variant, however, the lady has fully recovered.
“We have sent a team of doctors to her home and contact tracing and testing will also be done,” the official said.
