O’Motherland, My Motherland-Kashmir

My Motherland, my Motherland….

A caged nation salutes your greatness today

I, among all, Know that your loss is so big

That I don’t have any words to show.

As grief has stolen my voice.

I know that you are in pain,

But my Motherland, I promise,

Your tears are not in vain.

When someone leaves us for eternity,

Only then we get to know our hopes & fears,

But then we are only left with some silent tears.

Every day, I see you in pain & frown

I know you have lost your crown

Time does not heal all wounds

And the departed are gone without any sounds

O’ my grieving Motherland…

Your pain can be felt from my heart

When things are shattered & fall apart

Life will be tough for you from now

I want to make you happy but how?

But this pain you have to bear

Don’t worry Allah is always near

This too shall pass, so don’t cry

Only Allah decides, though we all try.

Life is truly unpredictable now, I know.

And I don’t have many words to show

I wish I could take the burden of pain, off you

But all I can off is my words, nothing new

All my prayers and tears are only for you

I know what you are really going through

I can feel the pain in your eyes

Another tragedy is no longer a surprise

The time are tough and hard to bear.

But Allah holds us close, so do not fear.
