Baramulla, July 29: The ongoing maintenance of the Mining and Geology department’s official website is causing major issues for the public and contractors across the kashmir Valley.
The website, which allows people to apply for various permissions related to legal mining and material royalties, has been offline and ongoing maintenance of official website has now lasted for 5 days, This is having a serious impact on ongoing construction projects, especially roadworks throughout the entire valley & particularly in Baramulla district.
Contractors and workers told KNS that they are unable to apply for the necessary permits to carry out mining activities and transport materials needed for construction. As a result, many major road construction projects in Kashmir including National Highway, Bypass, PMGSY, R&B roads are facing delays, affecting the timely completion of important infrastructure works.

The issue is also affecting legal mining activities, as permission requests for royalty payments cannot be processed while the website remains down. They said
Contractors have urged the government to restore the website as soon as possible to avoid further setbacks in ongoing projects. Many fear that the extended downtime will lead to even more delays and financial losses.
