ANANTNAG, JUNE 04: To strengthen the fight against substance abuse among youth, Youth Services & Sports (YSS), in collaboration with the Education Department Anantnag, organized various activities today in different educational institutions of Anantnag district under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan.

This initiative is a vital component of the district’s comprehensive strategy to combat the growing menace of substance abuse, particularly among the youth.

Programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, and members of the wider community.

A series of awareness-building activities were conducted, including interactive sessions, rallies, essay writing and debate competitions besides pledge-taking ceremonies.
These events were held in multiple institutions, including Shaheed Humayun Muzamil GDC Boys Anantnag and GDC Mattan. The objective of the campaign is not only to educate students about the devastating impact of drug abuse on physical, mental, and social well-being but also to empower them to become ambassadors of change within their families and communities.

Special sessions were conducted by experts, teachers, and students, who provided valuable insights into the challenges posed by substance addiction. These sessions were further enriched with real-life testimonials and case studies that highlighted the grave consequences of drug abuse.

District Administration emphasized the critical role of community participation in sustaining the momentum of the campaign. Schools and colleges were encouraged to provide continued engagement and implement early intervention mechanisms for youth.

Under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, more awareness activities are scheduled on designated focus days to ensure consistent public outreach and mobilization.
