Govt Dental College Sgr Hosts Free Drug Distribution Week in Celebration of 78th I-Day

Srinagar, Aug 13: The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital Srinagar, is pleased to announce a free drug distribution camp from 13th August to 17th August 2024 on the occasion of 78th Independence Day, 15th August 2024. This initiative is part of ongoing commitment to improve public health and ensuring that essential medications are accessible to all members of our community.

As our nation celebrates its freedom, we are taking this opportunity to empower our citizens by providing essential medications at no cost. The camp will provide a wide range of medications for dental needs such as Antibiotics, Analgesics as well as vitamins and other necessary medicines & supplements. Trained healthcare professionals will be on-site to provide consultations and assist with any questions regarding the medications distributed.

The camp was inaugurated by Principal/Dean, Government Dental College Professor(Dr) Ajaz Shah, in presence of all the head of the departments including senior faculty and other staff members of the college. In his brief speech he said that, this initiative reflects the Department’s ongoing efforts to promote public health and wellness in our community. We encourage all residents to take advantage of this opportunity and join us in celebrating Independence Day by prioritizing their health. He further praised the Head of the department of Public Health Dentistry for taking such initiative on the auspicious day of national significance.

Dr. Aasim farooq Shah, Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, emphasized the importance of this initiative: he added that “On this significant day, we are reminded of the values of independence and self-reliance. By providing free access to essential medications, we aim to remove barriers to health and well-being, ensuring that every individual has the resources they need to lead a healthy life.” Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College & Hospital Srinagar has been prominent stake holder in promotion of Oral health wellbeing in the Kashmir division, the department has been running oral health outreach program and has covered many districts in previous years under this banner.
