Life teaches us some important lessons sometimes. We have no authority to criticize someone on the basis of his profession. At the end of the day, he earns bread and butter to feed his family. He faces all the challenges of his life just to make sure that his family is saved from the wrath of the people who consider his profession awkward and dangerous to the society. This story is about a man, who by profession, is a thief. He is doing all this just to feed six empty stomachs back at home, and the onus lies on him to feed them.
Mumin, a feeble old man with a long nose and long curly hair, is trying to follow the footsteps of a young lady with charming face who is carrying a red coloured pouch in one hand and on the other, she is carrying her daughter with her, just to give her some dolls and other toys so that she will have fun with them. She doesn’t even realise that someone is following her. She is walking briskly, but Momin is keen to take away essentials from her. As she was about to step in her car, Momin took her pouch and was nowhere in sight. She tried her best to stop him, took some steps just to follow him, but he was nowhere in sight. Everyone in the street came near to her just to know how a thief took away her pouch in broad daylight when everyone was walking freely in this street.
Atiqa had important documents in her pouch, besides some cash, which she needed badly to buy some essentials for her newly renovated home. She looked depressed and sad. Her hard-earned money had been taken away. Everyone around her was consoling her, trying to pacify her. Her daughter was crying her heart out. People were giving her confidence that the thief would be arrested soon. Meanwhile, police took the cognizance of the incident and filed a report of robbery.
Mumin is excited after looking at this bag and found it full of cash. He took all the cash in his pocket and went to his home. The children were anxiously waiting for him. They had not eaten food for the last three days. He went to the market to buy some essentials for his children. They became happy after eating food and slept peacefully. On the other hand, the police are investigating, trying to figure out who the thief is, and how they will crack the case, which is new to them as it happened in broad daylight.
Atiqa often remembers the money and the moment when she was being robbed. She now wants to start a new life, free from all the worries that trouble her sometimes. Her daughter is now everything for her. She cares for her with the utmost priority. It is her daughter who comes first, after all of her works and assignments. She wants to give her the best possible education so that she can excel in the field of education. Her daughter always comes first in her class.
Momin, on the other hand, also wants to give his children the best possible education but has no resources or fees to pay for it. He is continuously robbing day and night just to feed them. One day, he was arrested by the police and sentenced to five years in jail; a case was registered against him. He faced a lot of troubles in jail, but he made a promise that he would never do this job again in his life after being released. He vowed to start a new life that would bring respect to him and his children. After serving five years in jail, he began a new life by working as a laundryman in a car factory. He no longer steals from anyone and is a very respected member of society.
Meanwhile, Atiqa’s daughter became seriously ill, and doctors prescribed some medicines and injections from the market. In a hurry, she took her car to the market and forgot her keys in the car. She doesn’t know what to do as her prescription pad is in her car and the doctors have asked her to get these medicines as quickly as possible. Her car is locked from every side, and the keys are inside. She called for help from people, but nobody knows how to open the car and retrieve the prescription pad and keys from inside.
Momin, was passing by when he noticed the situation. He is no longer a thief, but he knows all the techniques and tactics to open a car. He, while having a jolly conversation with the people around, recognised the woman and felt sorry for his mistake of taking her purse when he was a thief. He was ready to help her, but remembered that he had made a promise that he would no longer do such acts in his life. Atiqa was crying her heart out, and people were doing everything to open the car. Momin realized the urgency of Atiqa’s situation and opened the car. Everyone became happy after witnessing his technique. Not only did he save a precious life, but he also made a promise to Atiqa that he would return the money which he had stolen from her years ago. He lived a prosperous and happy life after the incident and became a respected member of society.
