Jammu and Kashmir Police has appealed to the general public to be vigilant against mischievous persons posting their photos with DGP RR Swain and other officers on Social Media without permission.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the police highlighted the growing trend of individuals sharing photographs taken with senior police officers without obtaining proper authorization. These photos are often taken at social and cultural events where individuals happen to be present alongside police officials.
The police stressed that such actions are not only a breach of etiquette but also potentially criminal if the photos are used to intimidate or deceive others into parting with money or promising governmental benefits. They emphasized that no one should feel threatened by such actions and urged the public to expose any such unauthorized sharing of photos.
The appeal was directed towards all members of the community, including general citizens, students, and workers, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding against the misuse of such images by unscrupulous elements.
