Sonamarg’s First Ice Skating Camp: Inspires Local Talent, Tourist Excitement

The first ever Ice Skating camp in Sonamarg was held from 24 th to 6th of Jan 2024. About 20 local boys was imparted training by Mr Mohd Ashraf Dijoo of Ice Skating association of J&K. Sonamarg’s First Ice Skating Camp: Inspires Local Talent, Tourist Excitement

The event was done in collaboration with local stake holders mainly the local hoteliers. The district administration Ganderbal, Youth services and sports department, Education,Tourism and SDA were the main organisers of the event.

At the concluding ceremony prize distribution was held and winners were presented with medals and certificates at the venue. In order to boost the morale of the beginners a contingent of national level ice skaters were also made a part of the event.

All the walks of stake holders, tourists and locals appreciated the event and were of the opinion that such events should continue to be a regular feature at the destination.

Officers and other stake holders were also given appreciation by Chief Executive officer, Sonamarg Dev Authority who also remarked that such events will help to boost tourism in Sonamarg.
