Global Shapers Host Workshop Promoting Menstrual Health Awareness

Srinagar, Dec 01: In an empowering effort to tackle menstrual health awareness, the Srinagar Hub of the Global Shapers Community orchestrated a workshop titled “Don’t Whisper: Embracing Monthly Rhythm” at Al Huda Public School Khayam today. This proactive initiative is part of a collaborative, long-term project in conjunction with the Noida Hub of Global Shapers and Menstrupedia, an impactful Indian startup dedicated to providing educational resources through comic books, workshops, and animated videos. Under the guidance of the Srinagar Hub’s Curator, Syed Uzma Hamid, the project is geared towards educating and enlightening adolescent girls in Kashmir about menstrual health. With the ambitious aim of reaching 5,000 adolescent girls through these workshops by 2024, the project aims to break barriers and bring crucial knowledge to young individuals.

The Global Shapers Community, an initiative propelled by the World Economic Forum (WEF), functions as a platform that unites young leaders and catalysts for change worldwide. Boasting a network of city-based hubs across 150+ countries and 500+ hubs globally, the Srinagar Hub, established just last year, proudly stands as the sole hub affiliated with the Global Shapers Community in Kashmir.

Central to the Global Shapers Community’s mission is championing positive change, stimulating innovation, and fostering collaborative efforts among young leaders. Their collective goal is to pave the way for a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
