Srinagar: In a significant development amid the Covid-19 crisis, Dr. Suhail Naik has resigned from the post of President Doctors Association Kashmir after being selected and appointed as lecturer pediatrics GMC Srinagar. As per the by-laws framed for the constitution of DAK say that a faculty member of any of the medical colleges’ can’t be an office-bearer of DAK simultaneously.

General Secretary DAK, Dr. Owais H Dar, while accepting the resignation described Dr. Naik as a multi-talented versatile personality with tremendous capabilities to run institution and profession.

Dar on the occasion remarked that the resignation of Dr. Naik has created a void in the DAK office and ‘we all will miss his wisdom and selfless services.’

The elected body of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has in the meantime unanimously selected Dr Mohd Yusuf Tak as Interim President of DAK, till the next elections are held.

Dr. Naik while addressing the media, as per GNS, said that though it is not an easy job to represent the sacrosanct institution however representing the fraternity members is one graceful happening in my life. “I wholeheartedly thank all supporters and am indebted to all doctors, paramedics, netizens, and media houses who have always supported my ideology in the larger interest of patients care and doctors welfare”, he said.

The beauty of the DAK institution is that Dr. Tak who contested the election against me is now the new president, which clearly shows we as doctors’ fraternity are united, he remarked.

All the core members of the Doctors Association Kashmir have appreciated the moral resignation of Dr. Suhail Naik even as requesting the latter to work as an advisor for DAK, till the next elections are held.
